I use Windows Live Writer to blog because it is simple and it supports plugins. Plugins make blogging really easy as well as enhances your posts. One of the plugins I use is Insert Video v3.13. It’s for inserting YouTube videos into my posts. However there seems to be a minor problem when installing on Windows 7.
When I tried to install Insert Video on my Windows 7 it would not install properly and the function won’t appear on Windows Live Writer like it should. This is because it’s installed in the wrong directory. On Windows 7 the Insert Video plugin would install itself in C:\Program Files (x86)\ScottIsAFool.
To use the plugin just copy the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\ScottIsAFool\Insert Video and paste the plugin file named InsertVideo.dll into your Windows Live Writer plugins folder. By default it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Writer\Plugins.
Insert Video v3.13 can be downloaded from here.
