How To Download Adobe Trials Without Akamai – The Easier and Faster Way

Author: setuix Day: Friday, October 30th, 2009 Time: 12:29 pm Category: Softwares

In the last blog entry I demonstrated how you could download Adobe trials without using the Akamai Download Manager. The downside was you had to install Akamai. In this entry, I will demonstrate how you can download it without installing the Akamai Download Manager.

I only tested this with the Google Chrome web browser. Just watch the video below. It’s really simple and straight forward.

So basically you go to www.adobe.com and choose what product you want to test. Choose the product and your operating system and hit on download. A new window will popup and Google Chrome will complain about a redirect loop. Just copy the download URL and paste into a new window. Then the download should start automatically.

Great solution, thanks! I tried it in Internet Explorer and it worked there too.

I used this to download the trial of Adobe Premiere Elements to see if I liked it. I’m debating among Pinnacle, Sony Vegas, and Adobe for home user HD video editing software, and Adobe’s desire to get in my business by installing extra software on my machine is putting it in last place at the moment. Unless Adobe’s product is vastly superior to the other two, I’m not going to buy the full version simply on principle, because I don’t appreciate having a company bloat my PC with junk only so they can advertise and push more of their products my way.

Thanks for the tips but I am a bit curious.. in order to grab the download links you need to launch the Akamai program.. so it is already installed on your system and so its not really bypassing it. I am on a computer that does not allow me to install any programs so I cant install the Akamai download manager in order to copy the link in the first place. Is that not the whole point of trying to bypass the Akamai download manager? NOT having to install it in the first place? I want to download the trial version on one computer, shove it on an external drive and then install it on my desktop at home (where I live in the middle of nowhere and so no internet line). Could someone send me a link to the trial versions of Illustrator and ImageReady please?

Sorry for the late reply but here is the download link you requested, you don’t need to install Akamai to get the links:

    Adobe Illustrator CS4

    http://trials2.adobe.com/Applications/Illustrator/CS4/Win/ADBEILSTCS4_LS1.7z

As for ImageReady I can’t find the trial download page for that product, maybe you can link me and I’ll get back to you.

I noticed they changed the download page a bit so that technique to download doesn’t work anymore but there’s still another way that I will be posting soon.

Thanks for the links. I grabebd the Master Studio file instead.. took ages to download but hey.. now I have the full suite in a single file so can pick and choose which apps to install rather than grab individual releases. Thanks a lot for your help :)
