Ever wondered how to create your very own icons for your computer? If you have Photoshop then you are not too far away from creating your very own icons.

By default Photoshop doesn’t come with the option to save files as icons (.ico extension). Below is a video tutorial on where to download the Photoshop icon plug-in and installation instructions. The video was created on Windows 7 x64 so the folders may differ from x86 (32bit) operating systems.

Depending on your operating system, download the correct version of the plugin.

IMPORTANT: When creating icons, the pixel size must be 256×256 or smaller. If the size is larger than 256 the save as .ico will be disabled.

If you need a small font to make for your icons you can get Silkscreen from dafont.com.
